Introduction As you've probably already guessed I'm a professor and self professed "geek." I teach full-time at a small private university. Although I live in the St. Louis area, I'm still a Chicago girl at heart. My family includes my son Matthew and his wife Melissa, my daughter Sammie an improv genius, my son Andrew who is a senior in College, my husband of 30 years Bill, our beloved mutt, Payton and way to many cats to mention (you can stop laughing now!) In many ways, I'm very diverse. I live in a small town (just outside St. Louis), yet love the big city. I'm very spiritual, but hate "churchy" church. I'm a rebel (or at least I like to think I am), yet I'm pretty much in the mainstream of society. So, you get the picture. I'm open minded to ideas and love to discuss. Be certain, however that I have my own position on just about everything!! And I'm not afraid to share it. I have a "wicked" sense of humor and LOVE to laugh. And most of all, I'm head over heels, crazy in love with Christ!
Interests PROFESSIONALLY: Studying communication--interpersonal communication, relationships, nonverbal communication, cultural communication, persuasion, public speaking, PR, and truth and deception, computer mediated communication, aka on-line (to name just a few areas); During the Fall 2007 semester I had my first sabbatical. It was wonderful!! I studied how women create supportive environments with their communication on-line. Sounds like fun, right? Hey, I loved it, but that probably reveals the inner "geek" in me! PERSONALLY: I love praise and worship music. I've been a vocalist/keyboard on praise teams on and off for the last 15+ years. I'm a member of the Illinois State University Alumni Band Board (okay, another "geeky" thing). I love teaching in any form. I am very, very creative. I absolutely love to read-anything, which is a good thing since I spend a large amount of time reading in my current job. Regardless or what I'm doing, I'm going to have a blast!! You can count on it.

You have to dig a hole to China. Where do you start?

I'm afraid I've been digging holes to China all my life. So far I haven't found the right place. . but the "digging" has been lots of FUN!! My motto is to "embrace life and dig in!"
