| Introduction | My great grand-father was living in a very small village in the middle of the Alps mountains and was a carpenter in the beginning of 20th century. He built his sawmill by his own and was going with horses in the mountains to cut the trees he needed, milled them and built furniture, roof frames but also the coffins for the village. I had the chance to know him and always loved the way he looked, this is maybe from where I got my interest for woodworking as a child. Becoming a young adult and having my own house I started to look more into woodworking, bought a bunch of power tools and was butchering wood in the worst way ever. Later on, tired of filling drums of sawdust I leaned toward hand tools and discovered a passion. Now I aim to learn more and walk the path toward better hand woodworking skills if ever I can. For those who read til here and are interested, my name is Lionel, nice to meet you. |
