Introduction P. David Marshall holds a Professorship in Communication at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst Campus in NSW, Australia, an Emeritus Professorship at Deakin University, and an Honorary Professorship at the University of Nottingham - NC. His research investigates our political, economic, cultural and celebrity public personality systems and their transformations in and through digital culture. Along with many articles and book chapters, his books include Persona Studies: An Introduction (2020), Advertising and Promotional Cultures: Case Histories (2018), Celebrity Persona Pandemic (2016), Contemporary Publics (2016), A Companion to Celebrity (2016), Celebrity and Power (2014), The Celebrity Culture Reader (2006), New Media Cultures (2004), Web Theory (2003), and Fame Games (2000). His current research projects include: The Cultural History of Fame (General Editor of the 6-volume 54-contributors team for Bloomsbury Academic publication), and Emotion Online: Curation and Correlation of Affect in Digital Culture (McGill Queens Press), "Persona Studies Handbook: Eine kompakt Einfüring [in German] (Springer Verlag]
