| Introduction | Of late, writing has become a meditative habit with me. As a result, I've gradually increased the length of e-mail messages to friends, covering topics political, personal, business and health--mental and physical. Occasionally I'll throw in bits and pieces of advice along with a few predictions or some nostalgic reminiscing to prove a point. As a consequence, several recipients have recently politely suggested; "why don't you start a blog?" And thus it begins. I'm a Grandmother, dividing my time between my business here in Portland, OR, and my semi-retired life on Orcas Island, WA. Both lives keep me busy, involved and never bored. |
