| Introduction | DeGora is a poet who resides in the middle of East Elmhurst, Queens. Living off the quote she wrote, "Broaden your own horizons and create your own name," she has been through unmentionable struggles that did nothing but force her best self. Began writing at the age of 14 and fell in love with how words could be used in different ways and for different reasons with the mentorship of Urban Word NYC and the Ascentos Writers Workshop. She is inspired by every length of life that she interacts with and used it to her advantage to write poetry that shows her political side of her personality. She aspires to educate teenagers her age and even younger to write because no matter what is said they are never alone. Her dream is for every youth to realize that they have a voice and see why their voice needs to be protected and learn how to use it. |
