| Introduction | Two years ago, I needed to get a receiver for my bedroom, and the receivers at Best Buy just did not appeal to me. Then I discovered Craigslist, and found a Carver MXR-130 Receiver for $75. I coveted that Carver when I was a kid, but did not have the funds, or even if I did, was not willing to spend it on the gear. Now that I'm older, and with some spare cash, all of a sudden, quite a few high cost gear from the '70s and early '80s are now affordable used, albeit the components have aged 30 or more years. However, quite a few in relatively good shape are available and they still sound quite decent when paired with vintage speakers. It has now become my hobby, and I wanted to document a few of the finds I have made. |
