IntroductionI became a Christ-follower over 25 years ago. Despite countless Bible studies, small groups and books about Christian living it wasn't until 5 years ago that I finally learned how to let God connect with me through scripture. The key for me was in journaling. Thanks to Ruth Graham Lott and her method of journaling that I adapted to my needs, I finally began to find God and his daily direction for my life by looking at his word in context, just a few verses at a time, and talking with Him about what I find there. In asking what they said about Him and what they might ask of me, I have found direction and connection I never had before. It's a journey. It's a process. God won't be done with me until I'm with Him face to face. But now the difference is that I can hardly wait.
InterestsAnswers to the question "why", gardening, creative cooking, writing, biking, current events, politics, theology, coffee with friends, great food, being out in nature
Favorite moviesBabette's Feast, Princess Bride, Stranger than Fiction, Fellowship of the Ring, Into the Woods (theater), Finding Nemo (virtually anything Pixar), Scrooge (w/Alistaire Sims),
Favorite musicEverything in some form or another except hiphop/rap and boy bands. Right now particularly enjoying instrumental celtic and bluegrass but like listening to nature's music too like woodland birds.
Favorite booksIf favorite means "most often read", then the Bible ranks highest. I'd be lost without it. CS Lewis comes a close second: Narnia Chronicals, The Great Divorce, Till We Have Faces. The Ragamuffin Gospel (by Brennan Manning). For fun I love kids adventure/fantasy lit. like Peter and the Starcatchers series or Artemis Foul. The Giver is a wonderfully insightful Orwellian read. Mostly I love books that either make me think or make me laugh. If they can do both like Anne Lamott's books then great!
