| Introduction | I started this blog to share my food, wine and travel experiences with those who might be interested. We live close to New York City and I enjoy going there for dining, museums, cultural and musical events. I get just as excited about finding great street food as I do about dining at some of the top restaurants in the city. We also dine out often in New Jersey, where there are many terrific restaurants that are usually priced more reasonably than their counterparts in the city. Wine is my favorite beverage and I appreciate restaurants that put some thought into their wine lists. I like seeing lesser-known, interesting, reasonably priced options on a wine list in additoin to the usual cabernets, merlots and chardonnays. One thing I can't stress enough is that if you want to experience a restaurant at its best, don't go when every one else is going there. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights if you can. I've noticed a significant drop off in service and attention to detail when dining at very busy times. |
