| Introduction | What to say here?I want to remain a secret. I hate work. Love Christmas, animals and food. This is my little bolt-hole where I can retreat and say what I like, so far without impunity. Tend to avoid people with very strong opinions or who show aggression. |
| Interests | Ponies and riding, Music - playing violin, Classical guitar (or not - not played it for years), and clarinet and recently bought an auto harp, singing - solo and choir and showtimey stuff, church, love Christmas, Venice, fun, food, drink, countryside, performing in musicals and G&S, Have no time for people who show personal unprovoked aggression so if you are like that then this blog is not for you, |
| Favorite movies | Can't think of particular favourites at the moment. I do like "The Rebel" with Tony Hancock, Enjoyed "Escape From Alcatraz", "The Killing Fields",and "Bangkok Hilton", but that was telly and maybe not what people mean when they say film. Hard to know when a filmed thing is a film and when it isn't. eg "The Clangers" and "Brambly Hedge"? Like "Wallace and Gromit" films. |
| Favorite music | Monteverdi, Palaestrina, Victoria, Allegri and others like that, Christmas carols, Vivaldi, Basically everything up to about Beethoven, but not all that keen on Mozart or Haydn and stuff like theirs, Benjamin Britten, Albeniz, Tarrega and that ilk, Rodrigo, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, the big opera eg Puccini, Verdi, most 60's, 70's and 80's pop, (it's easier to say what I don't like), Roy Orbison and people like that - I mean I do like him, Leonard Cohen though he's depressing, Gilbert & Sullivan, some musicals esp Richard Rogers' |
| Favorite books | Books by Iris Murdoch, Ian McEwan, Jan Morris, (I like topography books like this - not just all fact and not the "Year in Provence" type), Vikram Seth (only some eg "An Equal Music"), Ian McEwan, Laurie Lee, Christmas anthologies, poems, books on Exmoor, books on Christmas |
You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?
Easy. Yellow bird's feet.
