About me

Introduction I'm a senior lecturer in Information Systems at the Open University. I teach sociotechnical systems design, systems thinking and online communication. My research is on the interdisciplinary nature of information, and the history of systems thinking & cybernetics. Outside of work, I'm a Quaker (a member of the Religious Society of Friends). I'd call myself a liberal, or perhaps progressive, Christian. I place great importance on social justice, following Jesus' example of helping the oppressed wherever they are. I'm an associate member of the Iona Community and have been many times to the Greenbelt festival. But most importantly: I'm a husband, father, choral singer, and commuter cyclist.
