Introduction	Currently a student aspiring to be a K-6 teacher. I am open to all ideas and opinions when it comes to politics, but would consider myself as liberal overall. I have only participated in one presidential election since I turned 18, and that was the 2008 election with Barack Obama and John McCain. I voted by mail, so I am yet to experience the voting booth. I grew up in Kansas, where most people have very conservative ideals, but also went to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, which are both very liberal. I am taking this course to fulfill my degree requirements, but also look forward to gaining a better understanding of our nation's political system. I scored a 49.8% on the civics quiz, and 25% on the current events quiz, which I thought I would have done better on. I hope that after taking this course, I will have a better grasp on the different parts of our government, and how each one helps our nation run efficiently. I enjoy discussing current events and hearing what others have to say about what's going on in the world!
