| Introduction | What happens when you take a guy with a limited attention span and a vast hobby craving, then drop him into a dollhouse miniature store by accident? You get me, Dale Fluty. It was back in 1997 while searching for a scale model of the Titanic that I stumbled into a local miniature store and found a whole new world. I learned there was a way to put all my hobbies into one avenue. In miniatures I could paint, sculpt, draw, work with fabric and wood, design and create rooms of my dreams and so much more.
Miniatures are the perfect solution for people who just can’t focus on one hobby. Just think of what goes into creating one room of a dollhouse. Not only can it keep you focused, but it will also allow you to jump from one hobby to another without feeling guilty. You may be doing many different things, but they are all tied to the same ultimate goal….a beautifully designed and crafted miniature. As an artist I am always looking to improve upon and continue learning more. I am just now scratching the surface of what can be done in miniature scale. Everyday there is something new and amazing to discover. You can never know too much. |
