Introduction | STORY: The PAWS Institute is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996, dedicated to holistic healing and wellness for your companion animals. The catalyst for this, my lifework, was the untimely and tragic death of my cocker spaniel, Faith, who died prematurely of cancer at age seven. The agonizing pain of watching her die, and knowing that this caused by accidental exposure to toxic herbicides from the lawn, drove me to want to make a difference; to make her death have meaning and significance. Our institute members act as advocates for chemical-free pet foods and watchdogs for other harmful products that can affect the health and longevity of your beloved pets. In addition, we are actively, passionately involved in rescuing and transporting at-risk dogs and cats from kill shelters. We have rescued almost 130 dogs since 2007.
