Introduction	I am a 37 year old mother of two. I am currently in graduate school pursuing my masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I grew up with a mother who had schizophrenia,she is no longer with us, nevertheless, this experience has profoundly impacted who I am. I have gone from denying her sickness to accepting her and focusing on behavioral health as a career choice. The experiences I have had with the various mental health organizations I have dealt with are extremely negative, I do not deny that this is my personal experience and others may have experiences which negate mine. My desire is not to offend anyone instead I hope to find some sense of healing though writing.
