About me

Introduction	I had the supreme fortune of growing up in Zambia in the late 1960s through the early 1980s. This upbringing by missionary parents in post-colonial central Africa still shapes how I live, even though it is now many decades past. More recently, after living in Southern California for over two decades, I moved back to the Pacific Northwest to the family farm with its iconic 112-year-old red barn. I started blogging in August 2001 using Blogger and uploading posts by ftp to the 10 MB Earthlink website provided with my e-mail service.
