| Introduction | I am a filmmaker originally from Ireland and now working in the Manchester area. Along with working as a free-lance filmmaker, I have taught on the MA Filmmaking course at MMU, where I also did my MA. I currently work as a lecturer in Media and Performance at the University of Salford. Most of my work falls in the area of documentary, where I am especially interested in exploring the historical and political aspects of 'normal' life. I like to tell the story of ordinary people living in extraordinary times or living through something life-changing. I also feel strongly about representing those parts of history which have been forgotten or lost to memory, particularly women's history. I'm especially interested in the history of women in theatre and have created film projections for theatre and short films for gallery exhibitions. I have worked with the Library Theatre, the Manchester Art Gallery, the People's History Museum and the Wonder Women festival among others.
