| Introduction | Born in Leeds, England, I have been living in Israel since 1983. Trained as an educator, I have been working with youth for more years than I like to admit! As a child I was a keen athlete and played competitive sports during my school years. I taught in London for four years before making aliyah. My first job in Israel was with the American Jewish Committee before I returned to teach at a private school in Jerusalem. I qualified as a licensed tour guide in 1999 and have been creating tailor-made tours for my English-speaking client base. Following a drop in tourism in 2001, I worked for 5 years at the Jerusalem International YMCA where I succeeded in combining guiding with a public relations role. I have been fortunate enough to work in some of Jerusalem's most significant historic buildings and have the opportunity to meet a wide spectrum of Jerusalem society which has made me sensitive to the cultural diversity of this city. |
