| Introduction | I'm 59, a native Houstonian which has been my home except for 6 years misspent in other places. Spent my career as a city planner involved in redeveloping inner city neighborhoods, operating affordable housing programs, rebuilding homes, and providing support to service organizations working with low income families and the elderly. I have two grown sons, one a senior studying environmental science at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, the older one is still trying to find what he wants out of life. My grandson, Drake, the son of the latter boy, lives with me and his MeMa. We make our home in Kingwood, Texas, located about 30 miles northeast of Houston. Kingwood is located on beautiful (not) Lake Houston where I spend as much time as possible. Recently, after years of lay off, I began bicycling again. Hopefully, this fall, I'll do my first century ride. Next year, if all goes well, I plan to do a few short tours in East Texas. |
