| Introduction | I am a forty-four year old woman who is experiencing acute versions of PTSD and DID. I write poetry, songs, have written a screenplay and am working on a comic book. I have had a local showing of my amateur photography, and organized my bldg to fight poor living conditons. I am against abuse in any form, being intimately acquainted with its catastrophic results. I am a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, and am currently taking pictures of the homeless as it feels right. I am vehemently opposed to large corporations, and exploitation of others in any form. I hope someday to recover from this illness, edit the documentary I am currently filming about it, possibly find a publisher for my book, get my songs into CD form, and then move on to either directing or acting or preferably both.I am still in the final stages of becoming myself, however, and those dreams seem very far away when I must suffer now. A year and a half is all I have left of being ill. I hope to bring much attention to PTSD and DID and what I think it relates about the construction of the human psyche. I am ambitious as hell, frankly. I hope I survive this process and realize my potential despite my catastrophic beginnings. |
