| Introduction | I have always loved art and drawing. While studying engineering in college, I continued to draw from books by the Masters. In my 40's, I took local watercolor classes, since I had always wanted to learn how to add color to my drawings. I used my computer knowledge to "develop" my photos and study composition and lighting. This enabled me to produce realistic portraits, landscapes, and illustrations. I believe composition is key to conveying the "story" behind drawings and paintings. I spend hours sketching, taking photographs, and studying paintings. I am always amazed at what can be seen or felt using a simple piece of paper and pencils or paints. After years of gallery shows, I have decided to get back to just having fun. My latest passion is daily sketches and "designed" entries into my art journal. My dog is very patient when I stop and sketch during our morning walks in the Vermont countryside. |
