| Introduction | My Quaker journey began when I was twenty-one years old. That was the first time I heard about Quakerism and I was captivated by the description given to me by one of my college professors, Dr. Somerfeldt. At the time, I had no idea his words would become the seeds of a mystical journey that's taken me back and forth across the country talking with yogis, shamans, geshis, and every kind of pastor and minister you can imagine. It's also opened me to the reality of God, a transcendent presense, that tries to lead us towards an affirmative life of meaning and fellowship. Apart from blogging, I find my self in the fortunate position to live in community at Pendle Hill, a Quaker retreat center outside of Philadelphia. I function as their Development Manager. |
