| Introduction | I'm Alicia. I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer 10 days after my 27th birthday. Although my mother was diagnosed and treated just 8 months ago for invasive breast cancer (she's a survivor!)I had my own fears to tackle at my young age. After researching online and not finding anything that pertained to my age (very young)I decided to start a blog. My hope is that other very young breast cancer patients can have a resource, a place for comfort, to know they are not alone during the scariest and most confusing fight of their life. I also wanted an outlet that family and friends could keep up with Chad (my wonderful and very supportive husband) and myself as we may be too tired or overwhelmed to chat on the phone. But most of all, I wanted to journal my fight aganst cancer, so that when I am a survivor I can look back and remember the pain, fear, support, love, and courage I went through to become a better, stronger person! I hope you keep up with my blog and send me comments and e-mails, and enjoy it as much as I will enjoy making it. |
| Interests | cycling!!! indoor spin classes and outdoor rides. I had planned to do my first century ride (100 miles) this summer. Don't worry, when I'm finished with this mess, I'm gonna do it! Triathlons, drinking wine, spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, traveling (wish that were cheaper). I also love reading, but who's got time for that!? |
| Favorite Music | Have you ever watched Grey's Anatomy and seen where Meredith and Christina turn up the music and 'dance it out'? How true! I love ALL music and love to crank it up. Theres something cathartic about getting lost in music. I vote music over T.V. |
