| Introduction | Karen Rester is a self-taught artist. Born in Hartsville, South Carolina, She has been pursuing the development of her creative spirit through out her life. Karen has a passion for art and living a gypsy life style, taking a couple of years to cruise aboard their sailboat in the Bahamas, Karen with her husband Jim, moved back to land in deep South Texas where she began working on her art in her studio in the Texas Hill Country. Karen and her husband now live at Blue Moon Farm in the North Texas area where she weaves and creates art in mixed media, collage and fiber. Artist Statement: My art comes from the world around me. Each new situation or experience that life moves me towards, inspires a new variation in my creative expression. I love working in collage, fiber, mixed media and weaving on my floor loom. Experimenting with new ways of creating art, whether on canvas, in collage or on my loom, fills my days with challenge and makes me a happy soul.
