| Introduction | Statement of positionality: I identify as a coloured woman about to turn 30, from a lower-middle class background (my parents have been teachers since 1985), born and raised in Cape Town, in a nicer part of the Cape Flats. I attended a private girls high school on a scholarship, where I gained a lot and lost equally much. I have travelled the world a bit, mostly Europe but also spent 6 months in India. I currently work as a facilitator for a youth leadership organisation. My partner is Indian (from India, not South African Indian). We live in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
