IntroductionHabari! Na karibu.

This is a compilation of all the emails I sent to my close friends and family during my 9-week volunteer commitment in Nairobi, Kenya.

For the first month, I worked in an AIDS-related orphanage in Thome, and for the last 5 weeks I was placed in the Korogocho slum, where I volunteered my time with the Kenya Network of Women with AIDS (KENWA).

Please note that the emails become more intense as they progress, as the impact of my experiences in Kenya became greater the longer I lived there.

++The volunteer program I went through to go to Kenya was IFRE Volunteers (www.ifrevolunteers.org). I was ultimately pleased with the affordability of this program, and the IFRE staff were great when it came to helping me with all my questions and concerns before I embarked on this journey.
