| Introduction | The owner of Quinta Escondida, Natascha Scott-Stokes, established herself as a pioneering traveller in 1989, when she became the first woman to travel the length of the Amazon river alone, from its headwaters in the Peruvian Andes to the Atlantic off Brazil. On her return, she wrote 'An Amazon and a Donkey', to popular acclaim. Natascha went on to write several other travel books and guide books, before reinventing herself as a biographer and ghost writer. She is now based in Chile and building up the tourism business she first dreamed of creating while living in Guatemala in the early 1990s. |
