| Introduction | Imagine being unable to get in and out of your own home because you can’t get up and down the steps. This is the reality for far too many people in our community and often leads to isolation or the need to move to a nursing home or assisted living center. Ramp Up Marathon County works to help lower income Marathon County residents with mobility issues remain in their own homes by donating time to design, plan and build wheelchair ramps and raising money to cover the cost of materials. Referrals, screenings, and application processing is handled through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin. All other work is donated by skilled and highly dedicated volunteers. Funds are donated by local foundations, businesses, service clubs and individuals. Ramp Up Marathon County is a Division of Habitat for Humanity® of Wausau Inc. To find out how you can volunteer, donate, or make a referral, call the Aging and Disability Resource Center, at 1-888-486-9545. |
