Introduction | I have been tying flies (commercially and self use) since 1975. I started western-style fly fishing in 1990. Tenkara-style techniques, however, fit my goals for fly fishing. My idea of an ideal water is an isolated creek -- just wide enough to wade (if you had to) with native cutthroat trout (Yellowstone, Snake River, Westslope, or Bonneville -- it doesn't matter to me). Give me unspoiled country, no people, and cutthroat trout and I'm in heaven! ---------- Disclaimer: I don't always fish traditional tenkara as defined by experts. Sometimes I do, but I will also fish using tenkara-style techniques, or as some would say: using one of the "ten colors" of tenkara.---------- My other interest is astrophotography. I have had dozens of images published in textbooks, magazines, and on-line science websites. My images are at https://www.astrobin.com/users/tvdavisid/ -------- |
