| Introduction | I am currently a senior in High School. I have been interested in politics for a very long time, since I was in 4th grade if I remember right. My family has always been fairly conservative, and supported Bush throughout most of his presidency and so did I. Well at least until my junior year in high school. Around that time I was watching the Republican debates, which is when I first heard of Ron Paul. I listened to all of the candidates give their viewpoints, and I agreed with most of them on a few things. But I was very surprised that I agreed with this Ron Paul guy the most. When I asked my grandpa about him he said he was a crock (I think he said this mostly based on his Iraq war stance), and since I trusted my grandpa very much disregarded Paul. Also around this time though I started reading what the Founding Fathers said during their time, and was again surprised to find that the only guy today who still sounded like the Founders was Ron Paul. Ever since this change in my mindset I knew that I wanted to be a writer, and try and bring the ideals of the Revolution back to American politics. |
