| Introduction | Presentation Ipssar Soverato is a vocational Hotel school with a big tradition founded in 1963. It also has a boarding school for about ninety boys and girls. The school has organised a lot of important cultural and gastronomic events in many European capitals and in Canada and these undoubtedly enhanced the image of the school and of Calabria. Other important moments were the various gala evenings organised for people of the political, cultural and religious world . The school is structured in the following way : -During the first two years the pupils study general subjects and specific subjects -The third year is the year in which the students can choose between : Kitchen (cooking), Bar /dining room (serving) and reception. -The last two years offer a course for Technician in Restaurant Services and Technician in Tourist services, with apprenticeships in Italy and abroad. |
| Interests | Our school is member of the ELOS network, this network aims at implementing “Europe as a learning environment in schools”; primary target groups are pupils, teachers and the management staff of secondary schools. Elos aims at high quality education that includes the reality of European integration and international relationships. Elos schools prepare their pupils effectively for their roles as European citizens, by using Europe as a learning environment at school, trying to make education more meaningful and attractive. This orientation has to manifest itself throughout the curriculum, in different subjects and in international projects that broaden regular classes and use a common communication language. La scuola fa parte della rete ELOS. Questa rete intende implementare “l’Europa come ambiente per l’apprendimento a scuola”; il gruppo target primario sono gli studenti, i docenti e la dirigenza delle scuole secondarie. Elos mira ad una formazione di alta qualità che include la realtà della integrazione Europea e le relazioni internazionali. Le scuole Elos preparano i loro studenti per il loro ruolo come cittadini europei, utilizzando l’Europa come ambiente di apprendimento a scuola, tentando di renderelo più significativo e attraente. Questo orientamento deve manifestarsi nel curricolo, nelle diverse materie e nei progetti internazionali che allargano le classi regolari e usano una lingua di comunicazione in comune. |
