| Introduction | Many years ago I went to a gathering of people from many different racial and religious backgrounds and the feeling of unity that prevailed was wonderful. This was humanity as it was supposed to be- this was a very different way of 'being'. Awhile later there was still much that I did not really understand, but my heart and spirit 'knew' that this was the direction I wanted my life to move in and I became a part of the Baha'i International Community. Humanity is hungry for unity- hungry to feel the support of the extended family instead of the aloneness that comes from the 'nuclear family' situation. There are still parts of the Earth in which mankind lives in sustainable community, mostly independent of the outside world- but the vast majority live in cities, some so hugh that much of the 'soul' is lost. To return to a simpler, less stressful and more sustainable way of living is I believe our future. With that in mind I am now working to make a reality of sustainable community - information about which can be found at: http://lasenda-ecovillage.blogspot.com/ |
