| Introduction | A lot of people often think "who would play me in a film of my life?" but I think "what songs would be on the soundtrack?" I remember when I was 8, a 60's mix tape fell into my hands, I can't remember why I decided to listen to it, but I was hooked. I soon moved on to The Beach Boys with the help of my dad who was impressed with my early music choices. It was also through the TV chartshow being recorded and sent over by my brother studying in the UK, I fell in love with the likes of Tom Petty and R.E.M. I loved having a good old singalong with Tom and Michael. Growing up, my dad would often make an "official" holiday tape which could hold any genre of songs, be it Christy Moore, Massive Attack, Dire Straits, a bit of Lambada(for my mum) and a sneaky Dylan track(which was to be the cause of many a grumble from myself or mum). It was from this exposure, that I have such a vast and varied taste! That coupled with my brother's love for Rap and Hip Hop means I more or less have all bases covered! I think of myself as a lucky girl! Nowadays, I can't think of anything better than getting together with my family and friends and taking it in turns to play our favourite tracks! |
