| Introduction | I am a licensed Architect and Urban Planner living in Honolulu, Hawaii. Questions that interest me: •How do land use policies and building codes affect individual homeowners as they navigate the permit process? •Are the good intentions of City policymakers producing the intended results? •How can information be an effective substitute for government regulation? •Can lessons learned from smoking cessation, gambling and fighting obesity be applied to land use laws? •Can normativity research about individual behavior be applied to communal patterns at a larger scale -- i.e. land use law (taking W.A.
