Introduction	I started this journey to make the 2008 Olympic team in June of 2006. After two years of official retirement, I decided to move home to Rochester, NY from Palo Alto, California. When I fenced my first few competitions after returning home, I realized that the younger generation made significant strides in my absence. I was rudely awakened to the fact that I was no longer "Iris Zimmermann the young fencing phenom" but I was "Iris Zimmermann the fencing veteran". Could I come back? Should I come back? There are always ups and downs but I am now determined with a new coach, new training partners, and a new position as a leader on the USA team to make this experience into a personal journey. I may not always take first place but I learn many things about myself along the way and you're invited to share this experience with me. This journey has been 20 years in the making but the journey to Beijing begins now.
