| Introduction | Snehatheeram charitable society started its functioning in 26 September 2002 in vilakudy, kollam dist by Sr. Roselin Chirayil. It is a home for mentally challenged destitute women. At present we have 182 female inmates. It also got the registration of psycho-social rehabilitation centre and the mental health centre. At present, we have 182 female inmates; most of them are chronic mentally ill patients on continuous treatment. Most of them have physical illness also. It is very difficult us to bring them to hospital. Through psychiatric rehabilitation centre we aim the restoration of the fullest physical, mental, social, vocational training to the inmates. We provide prayer therapy, soap making, vegetable garden, tailoring unit, news paper reading, exercise, cultural programmes, medical camps, health awareness classes, recreation trips, Psychiatric counseling , important days oberservation which also includes the b’day celebration of the inmates. |
