| Introduction | If Jesus' crucifixion is a way of life, why would we aspire to become people who hold the power to crucify? If Jesus' death and resurrection is the climactic moment in G-d's soteriological plan, why would we vote to give someone the power to kill on our behalf? If the life, death, and resurrection of G-d is the defining moment of ultimate humanity, why would we not abandon the systems of oppression that dehumanize the lowest of the low?
