| Introduction | It should come as no surprise that am a engineer, now retired. Math problems are a hobby. The current math problem is not one that I have any professional background in. The structural analysis of a bicycle wheel is pretty far removed from my professional career in control and safety system engineering for nuclear power plants. I have become a self-taught analyst of elastic stability and deformation of systems in cylindrical coordinates. Some of the work appears to be beyond what is previously published on the structural analysis of bicycle wheels. |
