| Introduction | I am first and foremost seeking my own happiness in this life. This sounds quite selfish, and in one light, it is. However, i believe the most happiness that can be gained for oneself is not attained by living to meet your own desires as they come, but rather living for the benefit of others. Specifically, i believe that the happiest i can be is when i am serving others to better the lives of those around me. This happens to line up quite nicely with the the suggestions of Jesus, who also offers "life and life to the full". I am convinced that the greatest amount of joy that i will be able to experience in this life is in a friendship and relationship with the God who created Joy, Beauty, and Truth. This seems to make sense in my mind that to enjoy the greatest qualities that life has to offer, one must go to the source of these qualities to experience them in full. Through this relationship in Christ, my very self has been transformed into someone much more interesting, a person that can appreciate the beauty of the everyday, a person that seeks peace and justice, and a person that seeks to share this joy with those around. |
