| Introduction | I'm an elementary teacher in Victoria, British Columbia. I'm also an avid reader and writer, an eccentric lover of cats, and jewlery maker. Recently, I began writing a fantasy novel which I hope to publish one day, but it's still in rough draft and will need a lot of editing before I approach a company. I have shared my love for writing with students in the past who became enthusiastic to share their stories. I decided to go into teaching after I tutored a grade 5 class in the same middle school that I went to as a child. I fell in love instantly and switched from a science degree to humanities to focus on English and history courses. Then I completed the post-degree education program at UVIC and obtained my teaching licence. I have taught as a subsitiute teacher and kindergarten teacher for two years. I'm looking forward to completing the Teacher-Librianship Diploma at the University of British Columbia. |
