| Introduction | I am a single mamma who loves making things, especially Art. Currently, I’m turning the basement of my house into a multimedia studio. I work in paint and fiber & beads, among other things. Since I have been pregnant, I have been knitting up a storm. (CAUTION: Making/Designing baby clothes & toys is addictive.) I will often wake up in the morning with an idea for how to tweak a pattern or create one. Does this mean I dream in yarn? I spent 10 years of my life as a Chef… Seven years of that time as a 4 star Pastry Chef. I went back to get my MAT in Art Education @ U of L when I got sick of making food for people who aren’t hungry. For the past five years I’ve worked in the Jefferson County Public Schools as an Art Teacher for “at risk” middle schoolers. My students are really not that different from a kitchen crew: emotionally volatile, fascinated by fire and fart jokes…and often armed with sharp objects. I try my best to live my life well. It sure beats the alternative. |
