Introduction What do you get when you put 2 lesbians and 2 gays together? A beautiful, healthy baby. What?! Ok, ok...an explanation: When my partner and I decided we were ready to begin a family we weren't sure how we would go about getting the other genetic half. We went back and forth on the cryo bank and in the end decided that wasn't for us. Instead we wanted to have men who could be active dads in our kids' lives and so we opted to ask a friend and his partner if they would be interested. We were blessed when they said yes, and now the four of us have just welcomed our first child to this world on February 19th 2010. This blog is my attempt at documenting our journey to conception, and beyond, not only for our records, but also to help any others who may follow in our shoes. I made a vow not to self-edit when I began writing it so you may not always like what I have to say, but you will always know it comes from the heart.

The squish of mud between your toes; how would you live your life as a frog?

On my good days I would relish it as the best gift God could give a lit'l 'ol frog. On my OCD days I would put on galoshes and say, "Why, oh why God, did it have to rain?". Wow, what a metaphor for life. Who knew?
