| Introduction | No matter what you call them -- EMRs, EHRs, etc. -- there is an over-whelming need to keep track of medical treatment. It's important to the individual, the doctor, medical treatment institutions, research/development organizations, & payment entities. Today, the medical profession is in the 19th century with handwritten records. At least no one is laughing at the old joke about doctors' legendary bad handwriting. We get it: handwriting kills people. But what is more, high-quality records could save time, money and lives. They could greatly enhance our knowledge and overall health. We have the technology. Now we need to will to make it happen. My goal is to find a role for myself advocating for, and educating consumers about, the immediate, no-excuses implementation of electronic health records. I will keep you posted on what I learn. All suggestions are greatly appreciated. A creative communications strategist and tactician, I'm an experienced professional, expert at traditional public relations as well as web 2.0 implementations. This is my personal blog.
