About me

Introduction This blog is my attempt to share my ideas and learn from others about my favorite type of cooking. It involves using what would otherwise be thrown away in today’s hurried pre-fab food world to make something rich and good and to learn about where food originates and how we are harming our environment by throwing away so much every day. Many years ago I had the great fortune to travel to Kenya and see a society where “everyone” made use of what I saw as the trash around them. As I watched men beat tin cans into bowls and women make the juice from cooking kale into a vitamin rich soup, I knew I had a lot to learn about recycling. So this is my attempt to learn from my own experience about making the best use of what is headed for the trash all around me.
