Introduction	My love for food started as a young girl growing up on the Big Island of Hawaii. My mother frequently brought home boxes of fresh produce from farmers in the foothills of Mauna Kea, and from an early age I realized how exquisite food could taste. I spent most of my time running around barefoot, cracking macadamia nuts with lava rocks, and searching for juicy mangos dropping from the trees after school. The sun kissed my skin by day, and the majestic ocean sang lullabies to me by night. The Earth and its creations have always been spiritually mystical and sacred to me, and as an adult my calling to nature excelled through organic farming and eating a (mainly raw) plant based diet. Food preservation, animal husbandry, and fiber production have also found their place in my daily life. I enjoy living and educating others about the perks of a sustainable lifestyle.
