About me

Gender Male
Occupation Writer
Location Long Beach, California, United States
Introduction I was born deep in the wilds of Anaheim, California back during the last days of the American republic and have done most of my living in the nearby Long Beach area, with lengthy interludes in other parts of California, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and areas of Europe. Currently I make my living teaching anthropology and writing. I am the author of the novel Heaping Stones (2005) and Edgewater: Poems 1992-2009 (2012), both of which were published by Burning Shore Press. Over the last few years I have largely dropped out of the publishing game and have been working on a multi-novel project I'm calling the Backwaters Legendarium. Backwaters of Beauty, its first installment, is scheduled to be published by Burning Shore Press in the summer of 2014. Mother Earth, its followup, will be released the following year. In addition to my teaching and writing, I play a rapidly-improving baritone ukulele. I currently live in Long Beach, California.
