| Interests | I used to tell people who inquired, that my job title was "flitter", which applies to every area of my life and sounds much lovelier than some disorder. Some may believe it to be ADD, but I think flitting is far more accurate. My interests are so vast and varied and short of intense times of great concentration, I am usually on to a new project long before completing the present one. Although some may cringe at my methods, I find it to be great fun and I'm quite happy starting an upholstery project only to abandon that (to be completed "some other day") and get engrossed in writing poetry, making a quilt, designing a bodacious piece of jewelry, or playing in my garden. I don't mind getting dirty or stapling my thumb (*OUCH*) as long as I am challenged, content, and happy with what I am doing. In a nutshell, I love creating things, refinishing things and rescuing anything or anyone who needs to be rescued. |
| Favorite music | I enjoy all genres of music from Opera to Rap (a little less so on the Rap :*)) Currently, I have revived my love of Gospel Music, mostly the Gaither Vocal Band and all of the artists that Bill Gaither has introduced to us. I am amazed at the talents of this group, particularly of David Phelps. He is considered to be both by fans and experts in the music industry to be the best Tenor in the world. He has a range of over three octaves, is a brilliant song writer and talented arranger also. Even if Gospel isn't your cup of tea, he has also recorded some secular music and has a great bluegrass - folksy album of the Phelps Family Band. Do yourself a favor and give him a listen. You will be blown away Just search for him on YouTube or go to his website; http://www.davidphelps.com Music is very mood-driven for me. I tend to get very wrapped up in just one artist or genre for a long time until someone grabs my interest and I'm happily off in another direction. I need music like I need oxygen. It inspires me, soothes me, excites me, sparks my imagination -- basically provides the soundtrack of my life. I'm not always sure what comes first; the music or the inspiration -- often they are very interchangeable. |
Never mind the turtle. Don't you think you're sure to win?
