| Introduction | Native of the El Paso/Juárez border, Profe got her B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Texas at El Paso, and her PhD in American Studies from the University of New Mexico. She was hired as a founding faculty of the César Chávez Department of Chicana/o Studies in 1994. Profe has published 12 books, among them novels, poetry and short story collections, anthologies, and academic books. |
