| Introduction | Matthew 4:4 But he answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. As Christians, we are to live by the Word of God. It is not a dead letter to follow outwardly, or to ignore, but it is a living word that has power in the lives of those who believe it and live by it. In fact it becomes a living force within our hearts to bring us eternal salvation, as well as salvation now in this life, from all the corruption and evil in this world. It is the light and guide in our inner beings as well as outwardly as we walk among a world that rejects and hates God. We must learn God's true Word if we want to know the One true God that gave it. It is how He has revealed Himself to us. Jesus is the Living Word demonstrating what His written Word has promised and given, and He has told us those who love Him, keep His Word. How important, then is it to do so! |
