| Introduction | My pulpit rabbinate has been especially fulfilling in the endeavors of pastoral presence, inter-generational teaching, conducting life-cycle events and religious services, community building, interfaith dialogue and education, developing creative liturgy, and events programming. I am gratified that my writing has been published in such publications including The Jewish Bible Quarterly, Navy Chaplain Magazine, and The Baltimore Jewish Times among various others. I am a passionate, exciting and effective formal and informal Jewish educator and love teaching students of all ages. My goal as an educator is to empower Jewish identity and strengthen Jewish commitments. My love for teaching inspired my mid-career "sabbatical" into the classroom as a professional educator where I taught Jewish Text, Thought, and Practices to Middle School and High School students. Academic expertise: Hebrew Bible, Jewish History (all periods), Midrash, Liturgy, Ancient Judaism & Second Temple Jewish literature, Jewish mysticism. Former US Navy active duty enlisted and reserve officer. |
