| Introduction | I am a writer, speaker, advocate for ecological wholeness, a culture worker, and spiritual seeker. Milwaukee/Wauwatosa is my hometown. My German ancestors helped build this city. My Croatian ancestors came here looking for a new life of hope and dignity. My father, Steve Swedish, was the city's "Mr. Music" for 70 years, and my mother, Mary Rose Reichard, sang with his band. My roots here are deep, my concerns profound. It is time for our communities to come together in a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, to counter what pulls us apart with what brings us together. I hope I can contribute through the written and spoken word to the healing of the culture. |
